Faith That Leaps
Luke 1:39–56 (AMP) Big Idea: Faith-filled people rejoice in God’s promises and encourage each other while they wait. Have you ever had good news that was so big you had to share it with someone who would understand? That’s Mary. After Gabriel’s announcement, she doesn’t stay home in silence. Scripture says she “arose and went with haste” to the hill country. She needed someone who could share the weight of this moment. Imagine the scene. Mary arrives at Zechariah’s house, breathless from travel, perhaps a little nervous. She calls out a greeting: “Elizabeth!” And before Mary can even explain, something happens. Luke tells us that “when Elizabeth heard the greeting of Mary, the baby leaped in her womb.” John jumped for joy before he ever took a breath. Elizabeth, filled with the Holy Spirit, cries out: “Blessed are you among women, and blessed is the fruit of your womb!
